Individual Therapy: A Space That’s Yours
Individual Therapy
A Space That’s Yours
Individual therapy is about more than coping with stress or talking through problems. It’s about creating a space that belongs to you—where you don’t have to perform, hold it all together, or carry everyone else’s emotions.
Here, you can pause. You can breathe. And you can finally focus on yourself.
What Brings People to Individual Therapy
The people, especially women, I work with often come to therapy when life feels heavier than it should. Some of the common reasons include:
Persistent anxiety or racing thoughts
Feeling burned out from work, parenting, or relationships
Trauma from the past showing up in the present
Struggles with boundaries or people-pleasing
Relationship issues that leave you feeling unseen or disconnected
Parenting stress, especially with teens or young adults in crisis
Recovering from Narcissistic Abuse or Borderline Abuse
You don’t need a crisis to begin therapy, but many people reach out when things feel too overwhelming to manage alone.
My Approach
I use a combination of systems therapy and existential psychology. That means we’ll look at the bigger picture of your relationships, family dynamics, and personal patterns, while also exploring what gives your life meaning.
My approach is:
Structured – you’ll know what we’re working on and why
Practical – therapy that leads to real strategies, not just venting
Personalized – no cookie-cutter interventions; everything is tailored to your needs
What to Expect in Sessions
First session: We’ll clarify what’s bringing you in, talk through your history, and set your goals.
Ongoing sessions: Each week, we’ll focus on building insight, practicing new skills, and addressing the patterns that keep you stuck.
Progress check-ins: Every few sessions, we’ll review your goals and make sure therapy is moving in the right direction.
Therapy isn’t about me giving you all the answers. It’s about creating a process that helps you untangle what’s overwhelming and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Why work with Kristin Martinez, LMFT
With over 15 years as a therapist and 20+ years in the mental health field, I’ve guided professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs through high-pressure seasons of life. I built and led a multi-million-dollar group practice while raising a family of six — and I know firsthand how success can mask stress, and how stability starts from within.
My approach combines clinical depth, lived leadership experience, and absolute discretion. I’ve not only studied these principles — I’ve lived them, rebuilt my own relationships, and found balance without sacrificing ambition.
