When holding it all together is breaking you apart.
ADHD/AuDHD Coaching & Trauma Therapy in California and Idaho
You’ve spent so long making sure everyone else is okay.
Let’s make sure you are too.
Therapy and Coaching for Trauma, Neurodivergence, and Difficult Relationship Patterns
Sometimes you know exactly what is wrong. Other times, you only know that your relationships, responsibilities, or past experiences are taking more out of you than they should. You may feel exhausted by repeated conflict, overwhelmed by parenting demands, disconnected from yourself, or unsure whether you can trust your own judgment.
I provide focused, practical therapy and coaching for adults, parents, and couples who want to understand what is happening beneath the surface and change patterns that are no longer working. My approach balances compassion with accountability, helping you build stronger boundaries, clearer communication, and healthier ways of responding in everyday life.
Sexual Abuse Recovery Therapy
Sexual abuse can continue affecting your body, relationships, sexuality, boundaries, and sense of self long after the abuse has ended.
What this can often feel like:
Feeling disconnected from your body or uncomfortable being touched
Freezing, shutting down, or mentally leaving during intimacy
Feeling shame about something that was not your fault
Questioning whether what happened was “bad enough” to matter
Having difficulty saying no, setting boundaries, or recognizing what you want
Feeling responsible for other people’s comfort and reactions
Experiencing intrusive memories, nightmares, anxiety, or unexplained body reactions
Wanting closeness while also feeling threatened by it
Struggling with anger, grief, self-blame, or confusion
Therapy can help you understand these responses without treating you as broken. The work may include strengthening boundaries, recognizing trauma responses, rebuilding trust in your judgment, and developing a safer and more honest relationship with your body and sexuality.
Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Therapy
Narcissistic abuse can leave you doubting your memory, minimizing your needs, and working constantly to prevent someone else’s anger, criticism, withdrawal, or disapproval.
What this can often feel like:
Walking on eggshells and monitoring another person’s mood
Replaying conversations to determine whether you were actually at fault
Overexplaining yourself because you expect to be misunderstood
Feeling guilty when you say no or choose yourself
Questioning your judgment after being repeatedly criticized or contradicted
Feeling responsible for keeping the relationship stable
Struggling to identify manipulation because harmful behavior was mixed with affection
Missing the person while also knowing the relationship was damaging
Feeling emotionally exhausted, confused, angry, or numb
Worrying that setting a boundary makes you selfish or cruel
Recovery is not simply about labeling another person. It is about understanding what happened to you, rebuilding confidence in your perceptions, recognizing unhealthy patterns, and learning to set boundaries without automatically collapsing into guilt or self-doubt.
ADHD/AuDHD Parent Coaching
Parenting a child or teenager with ADHD or AuDHD can turn everyday responsibilities into repeated arguments, reminders, negotiations, and last-minute emergencies. Your child may be intelligent and capable while still struggling to consistently start, organize, remember, regulate, or follow through.
What this can often feel like:
Repeating the same instructions with little lasting change
Feeling more like a manager than a parent
Watching your child succeed one day and become completely overwhelmed the next
Arguing about homework, screens, hygiene, chores, sleep, or getting out the door
Wondering whether a behavior reflects avoidance, overwhelm, defiance, or executive dysfunction
Feeling guilty for being frustrated with your child
Lowering expectations to prevent another meltdown or argument
Disagreeing with your partner about discipline, consequences, or how much help to provide
Carrying responsibility for tasks your child needs to begin learning to manage
Worrying that your child will not be prepared for adulthood
Coaching helps you distinguish genuine neurological difficulty from patterns that still require accountability. We develop realistic household systems, clearer expectations, appropriate boundaries,, and strategies that support your child without making you responsible for every part of their functioning.
Neurodivergent Couples Coaching
In neurodivergent relationships, both partners may care deeply about each other while experiencing responsibility, communication, time, attention, and emotional regulation very differently. Good intentions matter, but they do not automatically create reliable follow-through.
What this can often feel like:
Having the same argument repeatedly without reaching a different outcome
One partner carrying most of the planning, remembering, and household management
The neurodivergent partner feeling constantly corrected, criticized, or misunderstood
The other partner feeling ignored, unsupported, or left to manage everything alone
Promises being sincere in the moment but not consistently carried out
Conversations escalating quickly or ending in shutdown and withdrawal
Falling into a parent-child dynamic rather than functioning as equal partners
Confusing explanations for behavior with excuses for its impact
Losing affection or sexual connection beneath resentment and exhaustion
Wondering whether the relationship can work when both people experience the problem so differently
Coaching focuses on identifying the actual pattern beneath the conflict. We work on clearer communication, shared accountability, practical systems, emotional regulation, division of responsibilities, and boundaries that reflect how your relationship really functions—not how either partner thinks it should function.
Why Work with Kristin Martinez, LMFT?
We are used to solving problems—but what happens when the problem is internal? When stress, burnout, or relationship patterns keep repeating, no matter how much you try to push through?
I specialize in deep, insight based therapy rooted in Cognitive and existential theortical orientations. With over 15 years as a therapist and 20+ years in the mental health field, I’ve helped countless high-functioning individuals break cycles, strengthen boundaries, and create meaningful change.
I understand the pressure of balancing leadership, ambition, and personal life. I built and led a multi-million-dollar mental health group practice with 20 therapists—all while raising a family of six. I know first hand how success and stress often go hand in hand. That’s why therapy with me isn’t about performance. It’s about creating a private, trusted space to step back, reflect, and finally address the patterns that hold you back.
I don’t just speak from theory. I’ve personally overcome struggles in my own relationships, saved my marriage, and built thriving connections with all four of my children. Sounds too good to be true? It isn’t. Life still has its ups and downs—but instead of overwhelm, I now experience both the abundant fullness of success and the deep connection of meaningful relationships.
Together, we’ll uncover what’s keeping you stuck, establish stronger boundaries, and create clarity—not just in your career, but in your relationships, decision-making, and overall peace of mind.

Benefits of Therapy
It’s like taking a deep breath of air after a large weight has been lifted. Therapy and healing takes time, and the process can sometimes be painful. However, the strides and changes you can make with a little guidance will keep you from ever looking back. Finally, you will look to the future and see that everything you have wanted for your life is possible.
People, teens and families alike, tend to benefit in therapy from better relationships, better grades, and better communication.
What to expect

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your mental health care will cost.
You will receive a written Good Faith Estimate before your first session and any time requested.
The estimate will include the expected cost of services based on your session rate and frequency.
This estimate is not a contract, and actual total costs may change depending on the number of sessions you choose to attend and your ongoing goals in therapy.
If your bill is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.
You may request a Good Faith Estimate at any time before scheduling or receiving services.
